The Supreme Court has declined to reinstate the Biden Administration’s latest announced plan to cancel student loan debt.
Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, the Biden administration said on Thursday that it would be forgiving an additional $1.2 billion in student loan debt, covering around 35,000 other people.
President Joe Biden unveiled additional steps on Friday to help Americans with their student loans and criticized the United States Supreme Court for rejecting a program that was aimed at delivering up to $20,000 of relief to millions of borrowers struggling with outstanding debt in a 6-7 vote.
